To complete,
I heard lots good/bad things on phantom grip lsd.
Does starlet EP82 fit yaris?
I know C52 trans starlet while C54 yaris same lsd.
Once they open gearbox maybe installing 300usd phantom grip can be cheaper than 1000 kaaz or os giken or trd.....?
Thanks.

1'st and 2'nd Gears in the Yaris transmission are primary gears and cannot be replaced easily. It will be easier to swap a different transmission, maybe 6-speed or dogbox if you want much shorter gearing in all gears.

Choosing the final drive and gearset that best works for you will depend on what type of driving/racing you do. The 4.6FD with Kaaz 3/4/5 gears will lower your top speed and works great for smaller tracks, rally-cross, autocross and tight canyon roads.

If you drive on longer tracks, highway/autobahn a lot then the 4.3FD with Kaaz 3/4/5 may work better.

If you could only do one of the two mods, gears or final drive, the final drive would come first. It makes a more noticeable improvement, is easier to install and less expensive.

Also, do not forget to add the Kaaz LSD to your budget, this will be the perfect time to install one.

Kaaz 3/4/5 gears:

Please,
4.6 install easier than 3 4 5 close?
Quicker acceleration with kaaz final or 3 4 5 set?
Maybe shortening 1st gear I suffer more wheel spin at launch?
Lsd suggested to improve traction?
I don't do autocross.
City drive, once a year highway, trackday at Magione Umbria Circuit
0.4 miles main straight.
From my data 6mph more with 4.6 than 3.4.5 close.
Not a difference.
Price alike.
Same work expense to me.
Still I don't understand which one allows more and quicker acceleration.
By your words it seems to be 4.6
then 3 4 5 only for long roads, finally best all together.
If I had 3 wheels I'd be barrow.. typical italian humour.
Seriously I don't like stock 4th length.
kaaz 3 4 5 closes all five gears.
Please tell me if 4.6 quicker than 3 4 5 close.
Or don't 3 4 5 make car quicker but only less speedy?
Thank u.

Yes, but if you can do one, you can do both.

Quicker in all gears with final drive. Only quicker in 3,4,5 with gearset.

Yes, this may happen, you can launch in 2'nd if needed. The LSD will help with this also.

Based on your description of your driving I would go with either:

1. Only 4.6 FD with Kaaz LSD

or

2. 4.3 FD and 3,4,5 gearset and Kaaz LSD

The 4.6 may be exactly what you're looking for and should be a very nice improvement. The 4.6 will be more noticeable in all gears.

I see on kaaz site there's short gear set for 6 gear C60. Is it possible to take 1st to 5th and install to C56? Some matter using with C56 shafts? Maybe case work needed? Thank u man.

The C60 won't fit: the 6th gear makes the cover for the gearbox too long and requires cutting and welding the frame. Not an easy mod.

So you propose putting the gears from a C50 (Yaris) into a C56, or the other way around? I'm working on a gearbox that has parts from a C50, C56 and C59. It seems to go together, but I haven't tried setting the bearing pre-load on the differential. http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...d.php?p=700882
