Can't pull those...they'll need to be fixed with good ol' fashioned bondo or a whole new panel!

For future reference
Learn to use a Slim Jim and keep it stashed somewhere outside the car,, Next time instead of butchering your car door trying to unlock it ,go from the passenger side with a coat hanger and try to snag the keys, I agree smashing the window is the clean way in when thinking of future repairs, Get a key made and keep it in your wallet Or if you had AAA a locksmith is part of the plan or if you arent a member calling a locksmith would have set you back about $75. He'll use a Slim Jim |

the poor guy phucked it up but hey we've all been there
Anyhow... when I bought my car it came with the credit card key and it's saved my butt couple times, thing is when you realize you've locked the keys, it's easy to panic and overreact. |

A few things...
[1] I have called AAA twice and a police officer once for locking my keys in the Yaris, and all three times they couldn't unlock it. The tow guys in my neck of the woods don't have anything to deal with cable door locks, so don't feel bad about your situation. Slim jims don't do crap on those smooth, sloping locks in the Yaris. [2] You should have just taken your VIN to a Toyota dealership and had them cut you a key. I went last year and bought 6 keys for my car at 2 bucks a pop and stashed them all over the place... work, home, gym, etc. [3] Don't let them fool you. That won't cost 2 grand. A little bondo and some fresh paint and you'll be fine. Go get an estimate and report back. |

Oh, and FWIW...it was another Yaris door that hit mine AND she had the same insurance company (same agent, even)..so they made her cover my deductible. The repair place did an awesome job and nobody can tell it ever happend.....but yes, it would have been a 1000 dollar repair for just a ding, let along the edges being chewed and scraped...

Wanna make a bet?
Having to remove a door skin is definitely a PITA and a shop will charge for it, but this isn't going to take that much work. When paying out of pocket just make sure to get more than one estimate. Some shops don't stop overcharging when you're paying out of pocket. Most will try to make a buck on an insurance job, though. |

I'll take that bet up lol. I'm guessing at least $1,800.00.
