I keep repeating myself about the iPod because I've done it, left it in my car overnight by accident, or just for 5 minutes while I unload the groceries... 5 minutes is enough time to rob 3 cars!! *sigh*
thanks for the good words, guys I'm OK, no worries :D I just want to make sure you guys know it happens *everywhere* so you be extra careful with your stuff (I still f'n hate the pr..cks and wouldn't mind if someone would shove a stick of dynamite up their @sses ) |

@ goliath, I'm with you. I hear car alarms constantly and usually sleep through them.
Another thing I was wondering is what do I do if I hear my own alarm go off? My first reflex is probably to go out and see, but what if you go out and there is a crime in progress... out here the punks are probably all packing... Not sure I want to get shot to save my car either. Pfewww Maybe go out with my camera and try to take a picture? |

Sorry to hear that tomato.
I'm surprised they knew about that container. If you haven't seen it after owning your Yaris for a while, makes me wonder how some random burglar found out. |

Sorry to hear about that, mater. This really sucks.
At least the car is relatively unharmed and you were nowhere near that place when it happened. It should be simple/cheap enough to fix those scratches too. I did not know this, but it does make sense.

i think the compartment behind the steering wheel is pretty sneaky too, but i feel it's in too plain of sight when i'm putting stuff in there after parking so i just use it as extra storage. |

Um - I never leave anything of value in my Yaris overnight - and it's always parked in front of my house - only exception is a photocopy of my registration / insurance (which has my signature and address whited-out) - even my garage door clickers for home/work - gum - CDs - I remove - I bought a Safeway re-usable shopping box - with handles on the side - and I use that to take things out and to the car - yeah it's a pain - but I commute and in 1 day of driving I can accumulate LOTS - like cc receipts / bill stubs / loose change

2010 - 1960 = a lot of years happened but you know, the 60's weren't as peaceful as people think. There was a dark side, too, a fair amount of violence and not so peace-loving stuff. There is a really good documentary about that on PBS just about once a year. |

i want a time traveling trunk monkey... buy him today, and he goes back to my car being broken into... and before you say anything, i know that would be a massive paradox... if he had been there, i would have no reason to get him...
