Excellent on the crank issue. On the dying with a misfire one, is your injector response time up at 810us or more?

It's set to 810us for injector response. Wonder what else could cause something like this.

If you stick the FIC bypass connector on does it run correctly?

I'm actually having trouble finding my bypass harness since my last install/removal. So I haven't tried that out yet.

ok after a little break from the modding game and enjoying my new wheels, i finally got around to finding my bypass connector and it runs fine with it connected. Its only when the FIC is connected that the misfires occur. These misfires also occur in my fiance's sisters yaris.

I don't unfortunately...and I currently don't have the funds to pick another FIC up just to test.

Since me and OP are experiencing the same problem with our 07 ECU, I'm going to replace mine as well. I found a slightly used one for $95. Gotta wait for it to get in, then ill update with results.

fnkngrv as well. He swapped my FIC in and the problem went away, but we are going to try an 08 ECM on his as well.

Man that would be a great help Scott but let me double check everything one last time before I bother you with all of that.

If you haven't ordered it yet, I can now do the firmware updating on existing ones to load the new version that corrects the issue.

It's a pretty quick and easy job with my test bench, so I would do them for $25 plus the cost to return them to you (which was about $7 to ship fnkngrv's today). While I am doing the update I will also program the VIN for you, which is stored in ECM.

So upon a final attempt to double check everything and re-install the FIC I found the vacuum line going to the FIC was torn. Didn't know if that had anything to do with the problem but I knew it wasn't a good thing and would cause some vacuum leak problem so I replaced it. Put everything together and started it up. No problems! It ran, idle fluctuated back and forth a lot at first but that was to be expected after disconnecting the battery and with the 1zz TB. Took it for a test drive and it did just fine :) so I guess this adventure is finally over and I'm ready to move on to my Turbo adventure! Thanks to everyone who helped me out this past year with this issue!
