Yeah, I've been thinking CRZ since I've been using my 3-door Yaris as a 2 seater w/ the seat folded down lately.
Let us know about any oil leaks - nah, j/k ...you should be okay there Enjoy. |

Here's pics of the interior of the FIT and with the 2008 YARIS sedan that had the head cylinder gasket replaced . Still make a nice couple . Maybe someday we'll have grand kids and they would skip a generation of oil leaking from the head cylinder gasket . The Yaris needs to get a blood (oil) test towards the end of MAY to make sure the head cylinder gasket operation went well and hopefully the results will be of good news from Dr.Blackstone which we'll share .

Just got 39.02 m.p.g. calculated . FIT overall gas mileage display showed 38.2 . The needle read little under 1/4 tank with 309.4 miles . Filled with 7.928 gallons of VALERO 87 w/10% ethanol at 1 click of gas nozzle and tank read little over the FULL mark . Tires set at 35 p.s.i.. 60 degrees for average temp . The tank before was 36.55 m.p.g. calculated and display showed 36.8 . 196.4 miles at a bit over the 1/2 mark and little over FULL mark with fill of 5.373 gals. of VALERO 87 at 1 click . Temp was 50 overall . These were the same pump . Not so bad .

38.4 m.p.g. overall on the display . 38.405 for calculated mileage ( 368.5 mis. / 9.575 gals ) . Gas was VALERO 87 w/10% ethanol , tires at 34.5 , 2 passengers 70% , A.C. on 60% , speeds up to 75 ( interstate ) , 35% city , and many steep hills . Very happy with this car so far . The gas mileage for the 5 speed auto is about 3 m.p.g. less than the '08 sedan w/ the 4 speed auto . There's only 3,200+ miles on it , so hopefully gas mileage will improve as the engine loosens up more . The FIT weighs about 300 lbs. more than the YARIS sedan , which also helps the sedan get better m.p.g..

Hmm...
http://automobiles.honda.com/fit/ I'm wondering if it's just the base manual rated as you show, because all sources say 27/33. Maybe they're referencing the Sport/Auto. |

Got over 39 m.p.g., 39.052 calculated . The display showed 39.5 overall . 35% city / 65 Hwy with speeds over 70 at times on interstate . Tires at 34.5 and 2 people for 75% of the time and some other items such as a cooler , groceries , etc.. Many steep hills . Gas was VALERO 87 w/10% ethanol . Some the driving was into winds at 15+ m.p.h.. There's a little over 4,000 mis. on it . Went to a HONDA parts department and picked up some HONDA 0w-20 ( S.N. / GF-5 ) synthetic for little over $7 a quart . Think their oil is produced by Conoco / Phillips . Also picked up a Honda oil filter and some metal crush washers . They also had metal crush washers for the YARIS , so got those as well .

Don't use the Honda oil filters. If they're anything like they are for the 8th gen Civics, they're pure garbage.

Here's a brochure from HONDA for their filters and the filter purchased . Says made in U.S.A. by Filtech Inc. , whoever that is .

Man, I was trying to find that video where this guy compares oil filters for his Honda (I think it was for an 8th gen Civic). He splits open all of the oil filters and shows the inside of each. The Honda filters were the lightest, and uses cardboard inside with some weak glue.
Try to stay with Wix made filters, either Wix filters themselves, or the Napa Gold oil filters. |
