In contrast making the intake runners longer alters the frequency of the reflected intake pulses which makes them resonate at a lower frequency (lower rpm). That's what lowers the torque peak in the rpm range. Greg |

see ive heard adding space their does change the parameters of how air flows in through the mani and also they help with dissipating heat allowing the air coming in to stay slightly cooler.

I just wanted to get an updated about these Mani-Spacers.
I'm very interested in how you even came to make all this stuff! I have to put mine on hold in the mean time till I find out what my class will be if I installed it for Auto Cross. Please, keep us updated. -HAN

I actually need to put mine on hold too. i've been playing with numbers and am seriously looking into getting a BRZ.
I do still really like the concept and idea. |

The whole process from idea to finished product is so much fun. It's like an adventure. First to come up with a concept, and then a design, and a prototype, and then dyno testing, and then production, and then sales. Quote:
None of the names on the list mean a binding commitment. It's just to give me a rough idea of how many people might be interested so that I can estimate how many to have machined. Another production run of tooter II.VII Tacoma intake manifold spacers is still in the works right now awaiting for some new tool bits to arrive, so the Yaris spacers will also be coming soon. The method of machining the spacers is constantly being refined as we go. Greg Production Estimation List 1. Fredovvti 2. dragoonmc 3. jjwitter 4. Klink10 |

Tooter I have a dc sports header, magnaflow exhaust, aem cai and a 1zz tb. Would this help me get back some of the low end torque I lost with the dc? I can't afford the TRD header thars for sale and wondering if this would help.

@astroman, you lost low end torque with the dc sports header?

Yeah, I also don't see how a DC header could hurt your low end performance, Astro. Did you also delete any cats or install a larger mid pipe?
I only know the difference logged between the before and after dyno runs with the spacer as the only change and nothing else. This same equipment was used for both runs: 1. SRI with BLOX velocity stack air filter 2. Weapon R 4-2-1 header 3. MicroImage MagnaFlow axleback exhaust Red: no spacer Blue: tooter I.V spacer Greg |

Well that is still promissing. Big increase in torque for our little motors.

I was getting my info from the TRD header sales thread which there was discussion that the TRD header wouldn't lose low end torque vs the DC Sports header.

What works against all of the Yaris headers is that the available space to make it a bolt on part is so damned short. Man, I freaked out when I saw that someone actually folded the runners to make a long tube header fit into the SAME space as the stock short tube header on my Tacoma. It's by far the most clever bolt-on exhaust design I've ever seen! The runners are 30% longer than the stock header, and are all equal length. Greg |

If i may be so bold, what did that header cost?

They made awesome use of space there. The price isn't ridiculous either.

As far as I'm concerned, I more than got my money's worth.
The stock downpipe didn't need to move one millimeter to accept the header. On the dyno, the header lowered the torque peak by 650rpm from 3,800 rpm down to just 3,150 rpm. Greg |
