Two fill ups ago I had the first oil change and had them put synthetic 0-20 in my 2012 Yaris 5 speed. Since then on the past two tankfuls I got 43.4 and 43.2 MPG.
In addition to synthetic oil I run 40 lbs (at 32 degrees) of pressure in the tires.

My car broke in at around 1600. My car is a 2012 5 door LE Auto
At first I was getting 29.5 MPG, but now I am getting 38 MPG just inflating my tires to 45 PSI all around. The max PSI on my tires are 51 PSI; I don't believe in over inflating for hypermiling. Safety above all :D. I am just glad that I am getting over EPA estimated. I am going to switch to synthetic when I hit 5000 miles, so hopefully I will be getting better MPG. |

I have been storing my records on the EPA system known as www.FuelEconomy.gov. Since I bought it 6000 miles ago it has averaged 42.6 MPG. If one does a search for "Find A Car" off the home page, and then select 2012 Toyota Yaris and select how details you will get to this page which is updated weekly, and I update my records at every fill up.

Mine is averaging 7.4L/100km, and I'm on 1360km so far. I do prefer to give it more revs, and accelerate more before changing gears.

" Isn't Mobile1 0w20 what Toyota wants in these cars? First dealer we went to brought that to our attention along with the 10k mile oil change intervals."
Toyota 0w-20 synthetic is very good oil from MOBIL . |
