Ragta has done it and had a whole build thread on MicroImage forum but that got shut down.. If you contact him, I am sure he will help you with all the parts you will need. It is pretty straight forward. CTScott helped him with a couple of wires that needed to be moved around, but other than that. I do believe it was a direct drop in. Just a few interchangable parts

Some info if you considered the Prius Piston Swap:

- Take a notch from the top of each piston due to some knocking in the yaris who had my prius pistons, other than that you just open, drop them in and run it

- 13.1:1 compression! Like always your gains come from doing changes and or multiple mods. Open up exhaust, intake, bigger throttle body, port intake.Need fuel management too at this point to tune. From what I know and believe you don't require bigger injectors but a tune at a dyno would determine that. Some have shown gains with dyno numbers at 132whp so around 145hk at the crank. No turbo.

- Tune with something like the AEM FIC, Greddy eManage, APEXI Neo, etc.

Some videos of a car equipped with the swap:

this is tempting also....

When you say "notch", what is suppose to be notched to avoid damage to what?

When it comes down to the running though do i need to go aftermarket with the ecu? Or is the stock one viable?

Eyeing up an exhaust system atm

To take advantage of the full Prius pistons compression you'll probably need a progamable aftermarket ECU. Maybe you can get away with using the stock one, but don't expect the same gains.

Someone is selling their Haltech here: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54910

If you plan on keeping the 1NZ engine, i'd also suggest looking into lightweight pulleys or even a flywheel. It might not make any HP but it will certainly help with acceleration and help make the car "feel" faster.

Prius pistons will require a piggyback otherwise you are throwing money out the door.

When I built my last motor I bought a Prius Piston from a Prius C 13.4:1cr just to see how it compared to the Yaris parts.

You don't need to notch the piston, but there are a few thing you up running into. The intake cam will go from being a non interference part to a interference part, so you'll be limited to the cams you can run, and its very likely you'll need to run 93+ octane fuel.
