Tires are 185/60 R15 LRR which are by Tirerack rated for rim width 5-6.5". And I do not like the stretch look.

I don't either... and run 195/60's on 15x7's. It makes perfect sense why you don't want 7's with those tires. You don't want it to look like a lowrider.
