I've switched over to the 1NZ blue injectors a few months back and was running fine without issues.
I recently installed a used muffler and have been using it for over a month now. I did noticed a noise usually when RPM is below 2k. Could this noise be that the fuel mix is running lean? maybe the ignition timing advancing/retarding? Strange that this noise did not occur till the muffler change. Any thoughts? |

lol I don't think it is the mufler. Could it be possibly a faulty injector? Is there anyway to check?

Upgraded 1NZ injectors
Were they used and flow tested? .. or just used and not tested?

Used, not flow tested. They all work fine. If i started it and there was signs of misfire or hesitation I would have pulled them out again.
I did clean them with carb cleaner and compressed air before installing them. |

On my NHW20 Prius, supposedly if I put it in maintenance mode, the ecu can learn new fuel trim. I've never verified this...not sure if the 1NZFE cars have that capability... or it works if I swap injectors.

Yeah the ECU is continuously learning. Depending on what year the car is and what ECU it runs depends on how fast it learns and how much range of control it can compensate. Mine's an '05 and STFT can go + or - 20%. I think the newer cars have a bit more control than that.

Unbelievable but that previous brand of fuel was superior to the others as they had the lowest sulfur content but now they have compromised quality for profits. |
