No economy car comes from the factory with a "high end" tire. And nobody makes a truly great tire in a standard "economy car" size. To stick with the OE size, you have to pick from the mediocrity that is available. (some are better than others)
I was talking about the size. So therefore this is Bridgestone's "high end" tire for that size. Hell I could put some Bridgestone racing tires on there....but then the speedometer would be off. The Potenza RE-01R is rated at 919 Revs Per Mile while the stock tires are 872 Revs Per Mile. The is Potenza RE-01R is 1.2 inches smaller than the stock tire. The Potenza RE-01R is 2 inches wider than the stock tire. It's like comparing a Toyota to a KIA.

I am rolling on Yokohama Avid Touring right now. Make sure you rotate them things every 4,000 miles. I waited till 5,000 and they started cupping. I believe they have a good mileage warranty too. Mine has a 80,000 mile warranty which I dont think they will make it to. Great in the snow and rain too.

www.discounttire.com has a bunch or reviews on their tires so you can see how people like them also.

Had a set of those on my wife's Saturn a few years ago, they were very nice. I didn't think they made them in a Yaris-appropriate size, though. Even the ones I put on the Saturn were taller than they should have been.

Hickman, if you're looking for a kick-ass tire with the same diameter as the stock tires, look at the 195/55-15 Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec. It is the perfect street performance tire for the Yaris... unless you need an all-season tire.

You'll find a lot better selection of tires in that size than you will the standard Yaris size, and they'll still fit on the stock wheels.

The Yaris is not a race car. I want low priced tires with the highest milage warranty. You are the one bringing up put tires on the car that are not designed to be used. This is an economy car!!!!

the only mods are an intake, an axle-back exhaust, better pads, rotors, and fluid, and a gutted interior. Since that trackday I've also added a WR header.

exactly. We are talking stock here. Anywho...I'm ordering the tires next week and going to pick them up. Getting them installed at Wal-Mart for $40. So in all it will be $272, which is not bad for my little "race car!"

Actually, the dude in the M6 was the only guy that was slower than me over the whole day. After the first session I had posted times better than about a third of my run group, but as the next 3 sessions progressed, everyone but that guy improved.

b_, great price on the tires! Let us know what you think once you put some miles on them! By the way..what tires did you end up getting?
