What are you guys after, a car or a storage unit?? I've got so many storage spots in my sedan that I lose track of what is in them. Recently, I found a CD that I thought I had lost...

I love my driver side glovebox. Here's what I did on mine:

These pics. are from my '07 LB. In my '09 LB, the cigarette lighter / 12V port in the glovebox is almost up against the coin holder on the left side of the glovebox.

I looked over both Liftback and Sedan before I purchased by Liftback. That was one of many points I liked about the Liftback over the Sedan.

The bonus gloveboxes would be nice but I'll take my trunk over them, everyday.

So after a little searching, and some help from CTScott,

The part number for the glove box doors are : 55041-52010-B0 (Door sub-assy, Instrument panel box, No. 1) and 55041-52010-B0 (Door sub-assy, Instrument panel box, No. 2)

TRDSparks sells them for $101 for the driver's side, and $120 for the passenger side.

Now on to stage two of the problem.

The bottom of the two glove boxes I want, are part of the entire dash. So my options are replace the entire dash, or build some sort of custom bottom out of fiberglass or something. I actually think building a bottom will be possible, and I think I remember seeing a metal pillar in behind the dash I could mount it too.. I'll have to go exploring under the dash a little more and see what we can do. I think I'm gonna do the driver's side first so i don't have to worry about the air bag :D

What's not to understand? It's a mounting ball for Garmin GPS units screwed into the glovebox lid.

My tomtom is mounted in the exact same place right now, except its on the sedan dash, not the hatchback glovebox lid. I didn't screw it in, I just epoxied the suction cup attachment to the dash I love having it right there. It is the closest spot, which makes it easy to use, and people can actually hear me on the bluetooth speaker(which they couldn't with it on the windshield)

I'm thinking if I have to custom make a bottom to make the glove box, I'll probably end up making mounting spots for a tomtom, scangauge, and maybe even a TMPS gauge. That way I can just close the glove box and hide all my goodies from prying eyes.

well duhr....I meant the 4 notches in the base of the base..... I just don't get how you secured it....

::EDIT::

upon further inspection, can I assume that the base has 4 notches with a metal ring exposed in those notches, to which you used string, and made 4 holes in the dash? (judging also from the second picture) I take it the mount has a 'beauty ring' to hide the mount....

I've replaced the old Garmin in the picture above with a new Garmin Nuvi:

Here's a picture of the mounting ball:

The four notches have "lips" that the head of the screws catch on. This is what holds the mounting ball down.

I simply placed the mounting ball in the spot where I wanted it, traced the four notches then drilled holes where I traced the notches. Then I screwed the mounting ball in and used a washer and nut for each screw on the inside surface / back of the glovebox cover.

My new Garmin Nuvi came with a cradle that snaps onto that ball:

It's a great place to put the GPS unit. It prevents you from using it (reaching through the steering wheel to tap the screen, etc.) while you're driving. Makes it easy to see as well since it's directly in front of you.

I mounted my nuvi to the small window infront of the big window on the drivers side door. Very handy spot.

Maybe the LB dash can fit into the sedan?

or

I'll sell you mine for over 9000 dollars.

My drivers side glovebox works perfect for my ciggarrettes, and garage door opener.
