Just got this from Toyota Canada:

Thank you for your recent correspondence.

We would like to take this opportunity to explain that, as the Canadian distributor, Toyota Canada Inc. and its dealers do not sell Canadian-specification vehicles for the purposes of export. This would be a violation of our agreement with Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan, and is an infringement upon territories belonging to other Toyota distributors.

Thank you again for taking the time to write and for allowing us the opportunity to comment.

Sincerely,

James McWade
Toyota Canada Inc.
.

I guess I'll just have to wait...

I live in MD and put a deposit down on a LB w/ ABS and it didn't have the power package, it did have the side airbags though. then the car in the wrong color. the search continues!

Don't give up hope, the right one will come your way.

Does anyone have information about this? Thanks for any input!
I covered the trouble with import here: http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...=4685#post4685

Still hoping I can work something out like trading a just purchased Scion xB for an RS, just haven't done the legwork to find a Canadian dealer interested.

I was in Ottawa last month and Yaris is like locusts, they're all over the place. That's what got me interested in them and when I got back here I went to one dealer and gave the salesperson my order and options I wanted and was writing out the deposit check when the sales manager tells the salesperson Oh, there are no cars like that in the country and there won't be any till next year.
I go to another dealer and he goes into his computer and finds what I wanted except for the color at an out of state dealership and I said I'd take it anyway. I left a deposit and left. After two and a half weeks I called and someone else had gotten to the other dealer first. He said the I'll have what I want in three weeks. So it'll be over a month. I'm waiting because I really want the car.
