I think you are chasing a rainbow. The Yaris suspension is no frills basic so you shouldn't expect too much relief from a pot hole ridden parking lot. But like others have said - tires are your answer for whatever slight improvement you're going to see. You were right about her expectations from an entry level car, she's expecting too much.
