Garm,
Would the use of this HID kit allow me to retain my DRL module (for fog lights) while, at the same time, allow the high beam indicator to work in the dash panel? My biggest hang-up so far in purchasing an HID kit is one that will allow me to retain stock features such as the two thing mentioned

^ mmm, gold pieces?

derflosser, an HID kit just plugs in line where the headlight bulb goes. As far as I know (I'm not an electrical guru), this should have no effect at all on any other function (as long as it gives low and high beams).

I'm sure someone else can answer this better than I can.

I installed the XenonVision bi-xenon kit in my '09 with HID fog lights and OEM fog stalk and have retained OEM control over the fog lights (including dash indicator), but lost the blue hi-beam indicator in the instrument cluster.

Yeah...that is what I was referring to. Does the Halogen Hi-Beam and xenon low beam configuration by Xenon-Vision retain the high Beam indicator in the dash? The only negative to this configuration that I know of is that the light cutoff is not as good as with the bi-xenon.

The DRLs should not be affected.

Depending on the wiring setup I could see how this might happen, since all HID kits are not the same. However, it is also possible you've wired them wrong. H4 H/L (Xenon-Low/Halogen High) kits plug into your wiring harness
the same way the stock bulb would. One connection to control each bulb.
If it's wired correctly there should be no difference from stock.
However, some Bi-Xenon kits use a single bulb which moves from low to high position and it's possible that you could lose the high-beam indicator, depending on the wiring configuration.

IMHO, Bix-Xenons are complete overkill. I have been running HIDs for several years and they light the road so nicely that I only use the Highs to flash.

are these projectors or reflectors? because of how light scatters badly on non-modified hid bulbs in the oem headlight housing.
