most inline engines are internally balanced. harmonic balancers are for "V" configuration engines

Don't take it to the dealer. Get your parts from Toyota. Do you have a very, very handy friend?

Well he could take it to an outside shop. Might be worth it to pay a premium to not have the dealer see what your S/C just did to your engine. I would be hitting my friends up personally, but this is Ohio and toddlers are gearheads here.

Wow an instant 2 extra pages with nothing useful at all.
I do think the seal may have been weak to start with and the supercharger just pushed it over. Does that mean it could happen again? I sure hope not. The first belt was wreaked not because of the massive power of the supercharger. I have a thread asking for help on my install but to cut things short, the tension pulley as I call it or the extra pulley that comes with the kit was not spinning due to contact with a bolt. This created heat and wreaked the belt.

Took it to the dealer, told them the car is modified and I didn't expect to have warranty coverage anyways. Dropped the car off at 7am and handed over the keys, 9am they give me a call and tell me the cost of fixing the crank seal leak and 10am they call me again telling me to come pick my baby up.
280Cad is cost incurred.

Sorry ChinoCharles but even Echo HRS had to come in and stop the bickering. All it was for 2 pages was a war over the lite pulley.
I do appreciate everybody's help though. I'll be picking up my car in a couple hours. I need to find a ride down.

ok let's settle this crank pulley argument.

Here is the 1NZ-FE stock crank pulley (from my car), clearly showing the rubber (or "composite", but seems like rubber to me) ring embedded in the pulley.

ahh thanks for the pics, Garm... I was about to go dig out my old one to see if I could see any dampening, for my own edification. I really don't think a NST light or 10% underdrive pulley would have a problem with vibration. Being lighter weight and precision machined, I can't imagine it vibrating worse than the heavy stock one...

Seems like the OP over tightened the belt or put that crank pully on wrong. Reason why the belt broke was most likely because he over tightned it and because it was so tight it messed up the seal. Sucks to be him. This is a perfect example of why you shouldn't get into things if you don't know what your doing.

The person I talked to was really friendly. She said even with mods it might be covered but it wasn't. Job got done fast so I'm gonna go pick it up now. I left the switch on "off" so they may have taken it for a spin only to realize that it's not quite as fast as they were hoping.
