You'll like the .Miata.net forum, very helpful for all things Miata and a great bunch of members including yours truly.
Miata is one fun car to drive,go kart like handling, tons of after market stuff and can easily be turbo'd up to 250hp+ or drop in a V8 for a 400hp Monster Miata,or just enjoy it the way it came from the factory..
And a few hours Northeast of Atlanta some of the best twisty roads in the east.

not a stock yaris, a yaris with 200$ worth of suspension mods does ;D

apparently you've never been given a spin in a real yaris =p, thats why you gave up on it.

OH CRAP! I've started another debate! LOL! Sorry, BUT gotta go with the Miata on the handling....... I've been checking out the Miata Forum, a wealth of knowledge over there too! And yeah, I know I'm in a great location. Headed to the Gap in about two weeks! Can't wait to run my new ride up there! I saw there is a good miata meet there in July I WILL HAVE TO ATTEND! Thanks for all your support.......

When i go to the gap i usually do a slow exploratory run first to see if there are any cops or road construction going on,second run ?let er rip..Be aware that this time of the year there are accumulations of leaves on the road and can get slippery.
Heres a guy taking it easy on the Dragon in a MINI ,notice he never shifts a gear once rolling.http://www.motoringfun.com/2006/09/

Also check out www.clubroadster.net

I personally like clubroadster better than miata.net

Having owned 2 Miatas, the Miata has it all over the Yaris when it comes to handling. Plus, the manual transmission and shifter in the Miata makes the Yaris stick an absolute dog.

Thanks for the roadster link! Awesome site! I washed and waxed the Miata last night. Looks awesome. The paint quality is refreshing after the yaris. Sun was shining today and actually got to drive home with the top down! I wish this car was a manual, but like I said, "my better half" requested I purchase an auto. It has a 6 sp auto and has the paddle shifters on the wheel where u can go thru the gears manually though. FUN!

You sure are living in a nice part of the world when it comes to twisty roads and Miatas.

Congrats man! Great purchase. I agree with the general consensous about handling. Having driven both a Miata and a Yaris... holy crap the Miata is in a different league.

lol, I bet with enough cash you could make a Yaris feel like a stock Miata, but who wants to spend that type of money when they could buy a miata and invest it in a better engine?
