As stated in YarisDad's other thread about Jeeps and Yarii...
One of the reasons I bought my Yaris was because of my Jeep. My old car got about 23-25 MPG, I get 16-17 in my 2005 LJ (extended TJ). There is no way I will ever get rid of my Jeep (heck, it was stuck in the garage for two weeks because I needed to replace the multifunction switch, and it almost killed me!) and the Yaris is one of the few cars that I found which was almost as much fun to drive as my Jeep. Speaking of which, this thread is useless without pics! Here's my rig... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() By the way, in the bottom two pics are my new Goodyear Wrangler Authority ATs from Walmart. I had Firestone Destination MTs on it (the top two pics), but ripped a belt in one while offroading. They were great, stiff tires and I was shocked when that happened; but I have been very happy with the Authorities. They really are MTs, but they are listed as ATs...you can see there isn't that much difference between them and the Firestones. The downside is that they are only available in 31x10.5...but luckily that is what I run. I had planned to go up to 33s, but decided these worked better. Oh, my LJ sits on a 2.25" BB and American Racing Outlaw II rims with the aforementioned tires. I may put a 1.25" BL/MML on it in the future, but I am not really looking for much more lift as this set-up has gotten me everywhere I've wanted to go so far! And if you look closely, I trimmed 1.5" off my front flares, essentially giving me that much "lift." It is an easy mod but requires a little patience. I simply removed the flares, measured that amount along the edge, and slowly but surely sawed through it. Then I sanded it down and spray painted them with Krylon Fusion flat black. With the LJ's forward rake it wasn't necessary to do the back as well, as the one downside to this mod is that if you have wider tires (even 10.5") with any backspacing, they will spit water all over the place! That makes for a cool rooster tail but sucks when you have the back window rolled up (even with the top, windows and doors on, the water still gets sucked in and all over the inside of the windshield). Cheers! M2 |

Well, my dad owns a 2001 Cherokee Sport with a five-speed. Great vehicle. It's his second Cherokee. He had a 1990 (4.0 liter) five-speed with more than 230,000 miles on it.
I used to work for Warn Industries (the winch and hub people), and still do contract work for them (which I'm currently doing right now). I've driven their JK in Moab and on this snow run here in Oregon. In this pic, it was a single-track and we had to climb the snowbank on the left to allow another vehicle by.

2008 yaris, red
94 jeep cherokee xj, red...basecoat with rhino-liner coating inside and out, 31" tires, 4" lift, aussi locked front axle, custom front bumper, custom lighting...all the goods, got rid of the bads. lol i'm looking to get another but i've been looking into a tube chassis wrangler. so idk...it's about the same getting a junk yard jeep and having parts n buying one that's running good n fixin it up. the tube chassis is about 1500 bux, and the yard jeep is about 500....then all the custom parts hitting up around 5 grand or so. and buying a wrangler out-right with all the goodies on it will cost about 9 any way....so i may as well have what i want. |
