As you can see in his recently updated signature, he's now past 380,000 miles.

Hope to see a new video soon crossing 400,000.

i think the limiting factor for me is not the engine but how many miles my 62 year behind could endure in an econobox!

Elephants have a much smoother ride but get much worse mileage.

:-)

The Yaris is perfectly comfortable vehicle. I have back and neck issues and its fine for me. In fact the 2 door is one of the easiest vehicles there is to get in and out of. Easier than my wifes Camry.

this car may outlive most peoples' need for using gasoline to power their vehicle. depending on how much I can stand my car...but in 9-10 years I might work on converting it over to microhybrid or electric; maybe sooner

Yaris's are very smooth.

There are many cars with much stiffer, rougher rides. And they get praised for it by auto journalists. Toyota's often get criticized for their smooth softer rides.

No matter how hard you squeeze Cubic Zirconium, it's never going to be a diamond. The Yaris is not a diamond and that's why I bought it. I have other vehicles for other purposes, enjoy the car for what it is.

Begging is not a particularly appealing trait.

I love the smooth, soft and precise ride (thank you electronic assisted steering).

It can be a bit floaty in certain situations  ... I can't wait to get a rear sway bar :)

If I can get 10 000 competitive kms out of a stock engine, then I will be stocked as that is probably about 5-7 years of rallying.
Only time will tell just how long these motors like being constantly thrashed though.

Those 20 year old Tercels are still running around with insane miles on them with cruder technology. I'm thinking these new ones would last even longer but with gas prices sure to skyrocket soon it wont be too long before our current Yari are too inefficient to rack up those kinds of miles.

I don't think so, within the expected lifetime of a car. More fuel efficient cars than a Yaris can be and have been built, but don't hold your breath waiting for a Yaris to become a "gas guzzler" by comparison with the average fleet.

For me (and I suppose I'm in the minority) the main reason my old cars have become obsolete is not fuel economy or durability. It's been the availability of important safety features in new models that my older cars lacked.

I'd hate myself if I died in an accident without driving a car with the most safety features!

So you'd be up in Heaven saying to yourself, "I can't believe I didn't get the car with 10 airbags! I suck!"?
