Oh, I just read it.

From your observations, how much work would it require to fit the greddy kit into an 08 hatch?

Have you looked at the 2007-2009 Yaris engine bay?

I looked at the pics and it seems somewhat do-able.

Any feedback would be great!

I don't know guys....i have the new GTX 28RS from Tial and it's designed to spool-up in a heart beat.

It uses the new redesigned billet compressor wheel and also has the tial stainless steel polished housing; which is half the weight and size of the normal GT28.

just because you get alittle bigger dosen't mean you cant get it to spool fast. there have been great advances in turbo design. I have the latest and greatest GTX28RS from Tial. Jake at Tial has this thing designed to make up to 500hp on a 1.5L motor gentleman.

It's all about designe.

For those of you with space issues and thats pretty much all of you. After seeing the inside of your engine bays "not to mention that A/C line location" right in the way of everthing.

I'm working on or should I say in the process of helping someone with using a stainless flexable industrial line and fitting kit to move those pesky A/C lines out of the way but still utilize your factory mounting location. Basicly push your hard lines over by your ecu and run a industrial Stainless braided line with compression fittings to your stock mounting point. Then you have alot more room to play.

Here are a couple of pics that might interest you. first is the GT28R ss from Tial It's the same one I'm using but I have the GTX version which is just a redesigned billet compressor wheel. But for picture purposes it's the same. You can see that the stainless housing is small and compact and can fit in tight places. Also here is the new Tial BOV QR

QR is the more compact recirculating BOV. Optional 1.0" or 1.34" reciruclation port, uses the standard TiAL V-band flange and can be converted into a standard Q BOV by swapping the bottom piece.

Food for thought gentlemen.

In reality there are no space issues. The problem lies in the design of the manifold. If the manifold is designed with the turbine side towards the passenger side the downpipe gets very close to the A/C lines. If the manifold is designed with the compressor towards the passenger side the are absolutely no issues.

To the OP, your question is 2 fold, one if the physical size of the turbo used & the specs of the turbo. First size, the below turbos are dimensionally very close in size & will physically fit with a manifold designed around the turbo itself:
T25/T25-T28/T28-GT25-GT28-GT30

Now specs:
The key factory for the turbo to spool quickly is the A/R of the turbine. The smaller the A/R the quicker the spool & the better the low end performance. The larger the A/R the slower the spool but the better the high end performance. There is no ideal A/R for our engines or any engine for that matter. Here are some of the factors needed to be taking in consideration when choosing the A/R ratio:
HP desired
Boost level
Street car or race car

There will always be things to concider when choosing your A/R size but what you fail to remember is it's not just the A/R size that makes it spool quicker it's also the fin angle in which the compressor wheel is machined at. Like the new Billet GTX compressor wheel. Fin angle changes everything. It's no different when I have guys from General Dynamics come in and need a self-propelled rocket to travel at a certian distance with the same load. fin pitch and redesigned angles are what produce distance and displacement. Which is why the new Billet Tial / Garrett GTX turbo spools up 10% faster than previous models. and yes the Tial GT28 ss housing is physically smaller and lighter than its predocessor.
