Ask your landlord for a different spot, between two small cars instead of beside a dinasaur.

I have only 1 ding on my car (knock on wood), and it happened when my Yaris was only 2 weeks old and I parked it as far out as I could in a Walmart parking lot. And no, I didn't straddle 2 spaces.

I live in a zero-lot line community and I'm buying my unit. The unit attached to mine is lived in by a guy who is sponging off his dead grandmother. He approached me about sharing MY turn-around spot for his friends to park in (sometimes I park my car there). I told him he better inform his friends to park a MINIMUM of 4 feet away from me and if I see any new dings on my car he is dead meat. It's worked so far, and I do a walk-around my car even when he's outside and he can see what I'm obviously doing. We don't speak anymore though and I really don't care since I don't want a neighborly relationship with the mooch.
