Tyre Diameter: 175/65/15's are 24" (609mm) and 205/50/15's are 23.1" (587mm). You could go with 205/55's @ 23.9" (607mm). |

^^^ That's actually an excellent choice for tread pattern; non-aggressive for a quiet ride, and a solid, continuous centre band for straight-line tracking.
Please, let us all know how they work out for you. |

i have yaris 2016 1.3 base sedan with stock tires 175/65R14 with steel rims. I am planning to change to 15inch/16inch alloys. Would 16inch be advisable?
initially i plan on 195/55R15 but if 16inch rims will not be an issue with my smaller engine then i will go for it. What could be the potential problems i will face later on when upgrading to tires with 16inch rims? |

very bad, i already changed to clone OEM Rims 15x5.5 and there is no available 195/55R15 in the shop.. They only have 195/60R15. The worst part i agreed to use it...
Feels sluggish and heavy to me, considering i am on 1.3L engine only. Also i need to put more pressure while braking. If only there is 195/55R15, i guess i need to wait for another 70k KM to change tires... I hope fuel consumption would not be affected that much since now i feel i am running faster with lower RPM.. its like i am ~5km/ faster than my stock 175/65R14 |

Sold my set of 195/60R15 for half the price after using them for 2500km and used 185/60R15 instead... I cannot believe the huge difference in handling especially on corners and theres no more slouch start from my small engine, powerful start is what i need.
195/55R15 could have been much better but i dont want to hit all the crazy humps here in KSA roads. |

This thread was very handy.
Looking to get 16x6.5" wheels with an offset of +40. Not sure about what tyres though! |

^^^ 16x6.5, ET40 is a great fitment with 205/50/16/'s on stock suspension or with a mild drop.

Damnnn, they do look good! If anything, I want to paint it black and that seems easy enough. I'm gonna have a look on eBay and see if they pop up. Thanks!
Edit: I found some nice 16"/7" wheels with two offset options, +35 and +40. Would either be a good fitment with 205/50/16 tyres? Last edited by spoonzz; 10-18-2020 at 06:42 AM. |

ET40 would be a better fitment with 205 rubber.

I see folks using Mini Cooper wheels. The 16"s I like have an offset +46-48. Is this in the realm of possibility and with what size tire for a flush look, with and without a TRD spring?
Another option I've found is a Sparco 16" wheel (from a Miata) with a 195/55/16 tire. Will it fit with or without the TRD springs? |

^^^ 16" Mini wheels are generally 16x6.5, ET48. They will work very well with 205/50/16 rubber on stock suspension or with the modest TRD drop.

Anyone know if Mini 16" wheels (ET48) with 205/50 tires and TRD springs/shocks can still accept H&R 10mm spacers in the rear and not rub? I'd like to push them out a tad for aesthetics and it 'appears' there's room.
With this setup, the fronts do rub just a bit at full turn. Any solution for this? Last edited by 06032; 02-02-2021 at 11:09 PM. |
