This may sound stupid but may I ask if I am to install 17" rims to my Yaris should the springs be changed as well? |

They don't have to be. People generally change springs to improve handling and/or to lower the car. If you go with 17" rims you will want to keep the overall tire diameter as close as possible to your original size. I think the closest match diameter-wise for a 17" tire (to the stock 185/60/15 tires) is 205/40/17 or 195/45/17. |

No. You don't need to change the springs. With 17's on stock suspension (or with a mild drop), OEM tyre size 205/45/17 is the best fitmet for the Yaris... provided you run the proper wheel width and offset. Period.
