All it needed was the bracket kit for mounting and wiring harness... I got them from Crutchfield because the price was competitive and it comes with really good install instructions for a whole system, not just the head unit...
Looking up the info on a 2000 Expedition, it can fit an E (Euro-DIN 2" opening), S (3" opening" or U (3" opening) head unit. The 4100DVD is a DD (Double-DIN 4" opening) and won't fit. Maybe you could look into the AVH-P5000DVD or AVH-P5100DVD models... |

I spoke with the audio specialist at best buy, he told me that if I get any of the following kit: Scosche FD1327B, FD1300B, or Metra 95-5818 that it would fit. Can anyone verify this information?? |

The first 2 kits are for installing a single-DIN radio in an oversized opening. Note oversized is between a single-DIN and a double-DIN opening. The 3rd kit will probably work, but because Ford didn't go to a true double-DIN opening until 2004, I think, any double-DIN stereo you try to install will require you to trim a good portion of your dash opening to fit...

I have a question, I been looking at a simular setup, my sedan came with the integrated radio that the radio and the trip are mounted together. Now I purchased the trim piece from toyota that match the opening that allowed the stock stereo which I believe came in the base model 07 yaris's which was a double din.
Now I had a single din sony stereo in there with a metra mounting kit that had the proper extension to go to the 4 screw homes. But now if I am looking to go to a double din, the guy at best buy said I need to order the whole toyota mounting for there double din, cause they do not make a double din mounting kit, it is just the filler pieces, and my setup I have no standard mounting points for a radio. What do I need to get from where to put in a double din nav in a yaris that came with the integrated radio? I thought maybe looking back at the integrated radio I pulled out there would be comething I could carry over, but the radio is incased to the front panel in such a way nothing could carry over to mounting back in that area of the car. Please help, im trying to weight if its gonna cost too much to make it happen, I did not realize that if I went with the sport model stereo that I may have a problem someday. Ron |

help with double din and wire harness
I've been reading these posts and have found them very helpful for finding the necessary parts. Now I have started taking apart my car and I've gotten to the wire harness, but now I am stuck. Here's my stats:
2008 Yaris Sedan (integrated car stereo) Pioneer x710bt Metra 70-1761 I am at the point where I am soldering the metra wires to the pioneer plug harness, but there are colors that do not match. Please, if anyone has the full install instructions (crutchfield perhaps?), it would be greatly appreciated. I'm fairly electronics savy, but this is my first car stereo install and without any instructions I'm in way over my head. Best, frank |
