It's not necessary to remove all of that to do the springs, if you use an offset box-end wrench to get onto the top strut nut.

Garm

Are there any instructions on this approach, or is it intuitive? I am intrigued...

Cheers! M2

Now I know what I'm doing with my vents. One of them broke a few months ago, and I was getting tired of the color anyway.

i looked at the vents in my car and was trying to figure out a way to attach it. did you attach it to the CF face? or did you attach it behind it?

I attached from behind. I used a saber saw with a fine blade (for cutting metal). What you have there will be great, and probably easier to cut than the mesh I used.

I'm working on the round holes on the sides now - you guys got me all inspired again.

hopefully using my dremel with a cutting wheel will be sufficient

My version (THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE IDEA!)

Okay so I fell in love with this instantly and HAD to do it! Only waited a day so I could go get the supplies. Here's how it turned out. Hope you like it!

Great idea Garm. I did the center vents on my 09 today. The 09 vent has a different setup though. I got rid of the up/down flaps and covered with the mesh. The left/right though has a wheel below the vents, so I had to keep left/right control or it would leave empty slots.
