as long as they were designed to work with our VVT-i and self adjust when the ecu send the signal it shouldn't throw a CEL. ever thing can be made better if they made it work with the stock cam they can make a better one and it will still work if made right.

^^thats true. I just hope that the demand for these will be great enough to make the work worth it. I would love to see some Cams for the 1nz.

thats why we need to rally up enough people to so mike will want to put these cams into production. im pretty sure that we will need more than thirty people to make this work.

I have posted this on Scionlife and on microimageonline fourms and I think all together its at 20 people. The cams that NST sells now for other motors work with VVT-i so that is not a problem. I just don't think this is going to happen unless I win the lottery and donate the money for the R&D

$70 per hp is still not worth it. that's ridiculous.
and i can install all my own parts. it's no prob for me... i guess im just not used to the expense and 'power gains' of these imports and smaller engines. i guess i should be looking at percentages and not power gains. i did gain 10% power on headers for camaro, and another 10% for cam, but then again, we're talkin 35-40 hp each...seems more worth while. |

If we were to get 10hp out of mild cams that is a 10% gain for us so that would be the same right? Stock car with a manual tranny are putting down 90 whp on the dynos but with I/H/E/Pulley some people are spending up to that much and not seeing those kinds of gains.

Some definite interest from myself as well. On the assumption that they will work equally in a 1NZ-FE Echo motor (no reason why they shouldn't). I would be curious as to whether they free up the top end some more and whether there is any benefit to raising the rev limit from the factory setting. I would also be interested to know whether the ramp angles require heavier valve springs or whether the factory ones suffice up to the factory rev limit.

Buy going off the cams that NST already produces their cams provide gains through out the whole RPM range and are a direct bolt in meaning not extra mods will be nessecary.

Gotcha.
I understand that no other mods are needed if the factory rev limit is retained, but then there is the what if question. If the power is still increasing at the factory rev limit, then an increase in rev limit through aftermarket management may provide additional top end power and give you a more flexible engine to work with when changing gears, especially to those of us with the "Economy" final drive ratios in our gearboxes. |

Well I know CTscott has found a way to get rid of the speed limiter he may be able to raise the rev limiter but then you will be looking at gettin stiffer valve springs. As far as knowing if they will keep making power at the rev limiter is a long ways away R&D needs to happen before that and there has to be enough intrest to start that. That does not mean stop with the questions I am gathering these to turn over to Mike if there is anything that he wants to add and I know he stops in every once in a while so he would be able to help out too. I might give it one more week to see if anyone else is interested then let him know the count.

Even though these cams are designed to work with the stock computer i would like to know what the intake and exhaust lift and duration of these cams would be.
just curious to know. |

I know that you are but none of this will be figured out until the R&D is started
