Garm, has someone in your vicinity with a sedan tried it on yet?... planning out the day for the Angeles Oaks drive to Wrightwood.

very nice - for most yaris customers they will not want to cut their bumper, so ours will probably be strictly under-body panels.

It's funny how much suction there is under the front of this car!
I was driving home from work on Thursday and a plastic shopping bag blew in front of my Yaris and I couldn't avoid driving over it. I checked my rearview mirrors and didn't see it, so I naturally assumed it was stuck to the grill of the car. I pulled over shortly after and looked all over the place and no bag, so I drove off thinking it had come loose and blew off on its own. The next day I am cruising home again from work, when I hear an odd noise. I thought it might have been another vehicle but I turned down the radio and realized it was from the front of my car. It was the plastic bag, it had made its way up into the left front wheel well and was wrapped around the spokes of my front wheel! I immediately pulled over and removed the tattered bag. All this makes me wonder how much airflow this underbody damn will stop from going up and into the engine bay. Not having an engine temperature gauge in the car, it would require someone with a ScanGauge II to determine if this mod makes the Yaris run hotter and if so, if that is a good thing or not. I know the 4.0L I6 I have in my Jeep is designed to run hot, and that attempts to run it cooler only decrease the efficiency of the engine; but I don't know what effect it would have on the 1.5L 1NZ-FE engine we have in the American Yaris. Cheers! M2 |

Good thoughts. I think there will still be plenty of airflow through the engine bay, exiting the rear (there is space above the rear lip of the underpanel), and the loss of airflow up into it from the bottom will not affect engine temps.
sabre, all the info is here in this thread. I should have kits ready to ship by the end of this coming week. I'll post up when they are ready!

Water temp and oil temp are unchanged with the underpanel installed.
