Dont you have any aspirations to drive something better than a Yaris econobox for the rest of your life? ,The Yaris if well maintained may be capable of going that distance but i'm sure you will get the itch for another car long before you reach that kind of mileage.
I expect to change for something else at about 5yrs or 200,000kms whatever comes first.

15 years and 200,000 miles with not one repair would be great.

10 years minimum. At my current mileage accumulation rate that would put it at about 270,000 kl. My 13 year old '95 Talon had 280,000 Kl on the clock when I retired it, due mostly to rust. It still ran like a champ.

I will say one more thing: there was this guy on the Jay Leon show a couple of years ago who had this perfect-looking Volvo with 2 million miles on the original engine. It was a world record. When Leno asked him what the secret was to getting 2 million miles, he answered, "Change the oil." Everyone laughed.

yea, i'm more worried about undercarriage rust than anything. my old car, the fuel line rusted, the exhaust rusted, and the brake line rusted. didn't have any major problems until those three came within about a year of each other.

I'll probably keep my Yaris for another 5 years or so. If I end up keeping it any longer, it will end up having a blown 350 sticking out the hood, tubbed with a narrowed 9 inch Ford rear end. It's good for what it is, a cheap car that gets great mpg's and good for my job. I've got over 15,000 now and have had it since April of 2008.

If you plan to keep the car to achieve the million mile mark, good luck. The cost associated with such a task to keep the car running by that time would def put a dent in your budget if you ask me. I think you should cut your losses at some point, buy a Huffy, tape a squeaky toy to the front and wear a helmet.

See that's a plan. You have 15000 I have 21500...... we are not afraid to keep going. But the world is trying to get me I don't want to say how many miles I have......

I'm going to run mine until I get tired of it or it becomes unreliable. Once the maintenance gets out of hand it will be returned to a scrap state.

KCALB SIRAY should hit the million mile mark in about 38 more years.
