My insurance is $479 for a 6 month premium. And I'm 21 with a speeding ticket, and a brand new yaris 2010 on financing so it has to have full comprehensive/collision coverage. Insurance: Mercury Insurance, locale: CA. Lol new car insurance is expensive.

My insurance (from Hartford ins) is only $568 for the entire year and it is not a bare bones policy!
This includes an AARP discount. If are any other AARP members here, it is well worth looking into.

It is the same coverage that "State Farm" wanted $1,170 for a year!

I just got my own policy earlier this week after being on my parents AAA policy for 6 years. I got it with 21st Century. I only got liability since my car has a salvaged title and it wouldn't be worth it to get comp and collision and they wouldn't give it to me even if I wanted it.

2008 Yaris Liftback.

6-month policy premium: $363

Coverage:

-Bodily Injury: $50k/$100k = $177
-Property Damage: $50k = $111
-Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury: $50k/$100k = $63
-Uninsured Motorist Property Damage: $3,500 Max = $12
-Roadside Assistance: $76 per occurrence = Free

Discounts:

-Superior driver discount.
-Good driver discount.
-Occupation discount.

I have The Hartford through AARP too for $682 a year. Car insurance seems to be the only advantage of age.

i pay $600 something for the year. When I lived in florida i payed $1400 for the year. Anyone who tells you insurance is cheaper down south doesn't know what they are talking about.

Quick insurance related question. I want to make sure I understand this correctly.

I don't have comprehensive and collision. So if I'm in an accident and I'm at fault my insurance coverage will pay for the other person's damages but WILL NOT pay for my car's damages, I know this is correct.

But, if I'm in an accident and the other person is at fault, the other person's insurance WILL pay for my car's damages, correct?

Alright, gotta brag here. $264.70 for six months with roadside assist, comp deduct $100, colis deduct $200. 52 years old. Safeco, I love them and will probably never switch, they have never done me wrong. Home/multi-vehicle/good driver discount. Also low annual mileage (just hit 30000 miles on my 2007) I AM A MALE!
