When I got my tint here in Perth the dealer told me that my percentage of tint was 33% which is the darkest legal tint available. Oh and tinting in the rear is allowed, not the front though.

35% is the legal limit. Any darker and you could:
1) be knocked back for pink slips 2) be defected by the police It's easily checked as all cop cars have a light meter. Whilst 35% isn't "that" dark, it's not too dark to trouble you at nights. Btw, what 35% means is that 35% of light is transmitted from a light source on one side through the glass and tint to the other side. (I hope that clears it up). |

Yea.....I called them and they told me 20% and it is past the legal tint (35%) and they told me I will have some risks ~ They said that 20% 3M film is a bit lighter than other 20% films ~
What do you guys think? Take the risk or go for the 35% one? Jaspie ~ |

Jaspie, I think you know the consequences if you run outside the legal side. You're an adult now.

The 20% looked really nice and the 35% looked too light but to be on the safe side ~ I think I'll go with 35%......the lady at the shop said it will be lighter than what it looks on the samples ~ Hope so ~ Jaspie ~ |
