the thing i like about them is the cheap cost for servicing the shocks, to re-oil and re-valve the whole thing costs only about 20 USD per shocks.

I appreciate all the input found here. I've never even heard of coilovers before, and I'm glad I found you guys. I am also really glad I invested my money in the "good stuff."

Where'd the TRD springs go? ;D

I also was looking at getting the 195/50 tires in 15's, and saving up for those same rims, ;D
how is the gearing now that you're at that profile of tire, I was thinking of going 195/55 personally to try and keep things similar to my 185/60's

would you say the coilovers are heavier than regular spring/shock combo?

Sold the TRDs to another member here.

Gearing is fine. The only difference I notice is my speedo reads 80 mph and the GPS shows actually I'm going 75. Not a big deal to me. The real difference is the handling. The 195/50s have a stiffer sidewall so there is not alot of tire roll in turns. The S Drives really stick too.

Save your money up. the RPF1s are worth every penny. I've had Konigs and cheaper wheels, and you really get what you pay for. The finish on these is fantastic, and the weight advantage you really see in acceleration. Save up and get them. You will not be disappointed.

There is no weight difference that I noticed from stock springs/struts to coilovers. Again, just like I said to begin with, I am amazed at how well my car takes turns with them on. It carves like an expensive sports car. I live in the Mountains and drive twisty roads daily. I have so much fun, I sometimes take the long route just to enjoy my car.

I have not bought the HKS S Compact coilovers. But, the site lists them at 5kg/mm in the front and 4.6kg/mm in the back. So, roughly (F/R) 280/260 lb/in.

I'd be interested in some too, does anyone know what set can give you the smallest drop?

I'm getting coilovers which will slightly raise my car (for rallying). Anything can be made if you go custom instead of big name off the shelf crap.

megans and silk roads can be set at stock height, don't know other brands.

Rob, it's about time for a picture update of your project!

I'll put up a pic of my new front rally shocks with custom strut tops (to allow more shock travel) when they arrive. Will that keep you happy?
