The worst mistake you can ever make on a project is to say "oh it should be done in a few days..." because then your car ends up sitting in the garage for 2 weeks while you're waiting for a stupid minor part that's stuck on backorder, or some other such nonsense :P

They probably had trouble removing the sidemarkers.

*sigh* It will! Went last weekend to go pick it up and I'm sure by the lack of pictures you kinda figured what happened.... it wasn't ready. 2nd damn time I drove 8 hours round trip to NOT get my car in a vehicle that is lucky to break into the low teens fore MPG. I'm not saying anymore that I'm gonna get it because all it seems to do is jinx me. I did take some photos while I was there, and as far as how the design is and the paint all I can say is WOW
Here is the one picture I'm gonna share: |

I did call! Both times too. I'll post some of the progress pics. Just waiting on clear. The foglight doesn't look mounted properly because that was just a mock up.

Did the foglight housing get molded in? Or is it deleted in that last picture?

It came moulded like that (you sent me the bumper) but he's really smoothed the horrors of aftermarketness out of it. Fog lights will be installed so no more empty space. The bumper now looks and fits like a OEM one. Blending between the front bumper, rear bumper and sideskirts will now also be done so you won't see different shades of silver in the sunlight.

*sigh* Yes. He is finishing with the cutting and buffing which is a pretty intensive task but will make that show quality finish and finally get me into the magazines.
We had a long deep talk today about how not having my car for 7 months has cost me a very considerable amount of money having to dump $$$$ for gas and repairs into a '95 Pathfinder (that I have found out needs even more $$$ to repair) and him getting his shit straight in his life. Through that, he is picking his 9 year old son up from SeaTac airport tomorrow evening at 5:30, then making the 2 and a half hour drive to my place to deliver me my Yaris, which I will then in the morning make the 8 hour round-trip drive to drop him and his son off at his house. Yes, it is another promise that I will get my car. I always have a slight glimmer of hope that maybe this time will be it, but betting on it won't. Call me a pessimist but I opened this thread back in April expecting to finally get my Yaris and that was almost two and a half months ago. I'm crossing my fingers, and trust me when I finally do get her back I will be dumping a bunch of Yaris porn on here! Keep your fingers crossed for me, this pathfinder is costing me close to $100 a week with all the gas and repairs. |
