Pepper spray is (I forget what the chemical is) 6%. Bear repellent is more like 45%.

These are a felony in CA (and regularly prosecuted) .. As are any knife thats concealed or a with a folding blade longer than 4 inches.

sad but true... Might as well go the distance and carry the pistol..

An ASP is prosecuted? It's not even a knife- it's a baton!

Reason number 168465316876841357468463 I'll never move to California. That state has been pussified to the max.

Very strongly prosecuted.. and I even understand the reason..
An individual is waaaay more likely to pull a knife or baton (less lethal in the mind of many) than they are to pull a pistol.. The general publics willingness to use one of these less lethal (again in the minds of many, I know better..) tools makes them more dangerous in a day to day , moment to moment sort of way..

Here is the problem with that (and the same argument goes for guns)- criminals do not give a shit about laws. Criminals will continue to own these and use them offensively, not defensively like the rest of the law-abiding public. Every time the government takes away another defensive weapon from the public, the criminals will gain yet another advantage.

But, the idiot politicians will never understand that- to them, the weapons commit the crimes, not the people using them. Kind of like watching Brokeback Mountain makes you gay, or listening to Marilyn Manson makes you a satanist. See a pattern in the idiocy?

If the government wants my guns and other weapons, they will be prying them from my cold, dead hands.
