My ECHO got about 40k out of a set of Potenzas. I almost never went over 45mph either since I drove mostly to work. Ditto the Yaris but Ive taken a trip each past summer. How could there be such a discrepency? |

But like I said never rotated so the rear tires usually last twice as long as front tires. When I replaced them they were worn to wearbars and pretty scary in the rain. I just bought a set of 4 hankook optimo h727 from tirerack.com. Hope to get same life out of them. |

As a long time Toyota driver of various types, I would expect this! I bought a '90 pickup, one of the old little ones, and worked the hell out of it for 245K with NO problems, the original clutch and brakes were fine etc. Years later I still see it from time to time (it had a custom flatbed I built so easy to recognize) and every time I do a different small contractor is driving it and it's always loaded to the gunwales with tools and material. Mid 300,000 miles last time I checked, and they all report "no problems"! This experience was a huge reason why I bought my '08 HB, Toyota just has my trust, and so far, for good reasons.

I forget, is this your car or just one you remember posted? Also, in case some aren't aware, the OP of this thread sits around 435,000+miles with no problems (followed him a bit on YouTube). Shortly after passing 400K last year, he quit his courier job and went down to a normal pace. Not sure why he stopped posting after that. |

good to see this yaris puttin in some work lol, i also thought i drove a lot... 100 miles round trip to the office 6 days a week, and 2 or 3 days a week an extra 100-200 miles depending on what i need to do. and i can attest that central-south florida you can easily run 85-90mph (pending traffic) without fhp caring to much, and you'll still be in someones way going to slow lol

Did you follow it closely enough to see my post yet doofus? Lots of people drive that much, in my case my car was driven more like 580 per day, 5 days a week....along with the other 15 or so Yaris the company owned. My car is the only one that had the motor swapped out, which is why I bought it....for 2000.00. From Feb 2011.

You think no one drives 5 hours a day? Millions of Americans drive more than that everyday for a living. Try 8-10+ hours everyday. You seem to forgetting that he was a courier. We're not talking about someone who drove over 100K a year off the clock. That would indeed be hard to believe. You have any idea how much cross country tractor trailer drivers drive? All of your numbers are way off. Triniper4mance laid out is driving schedules. He did 8+ hours a day on the Florida highways delivering medical specimen. Why is that so hard to believe? 5 hours a day would be a part time job cake walk LOL. |

^ per the official website:
Geography of Trinidad: Area: 5,128 sq. km. (1,980 sq. mi.), about the size of Delaware. This means that ramishrrr obviously has no real clue. The State of Florida is the 4th largest state in the union and Delaware ranks 45th. I have been in many countries, but I would never presume to attempt to judge if I haven't been there. Hell, you could get on I-95 and literally drive from the top of the state to the bottom and feel worn out! That is with a really decent stretch of freeway too. I totally believe Triniper4mance. With his experiences for example for windshield wipers it helped me immensely as I performed the wiper arm/blade mod he suggested (Civic/Fit) and have been loving it. Even at higher speeds which he had to have been driving those arms and blades are super awesome.

How about an official CNN report? http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2010/...le_cars/5.html What the heck is so hard to believe? Maybe people don't drive in Trinidad but this is commonplace in the US for work related vehicles. You do realize a workday is 8++ hours a day and is often done at 75 mph? |

I can speak for myself. I drive a delivery route around central New York, which is around 250-290 miles a day and takes around 7-8 hours (depending on the number of stops). I'm about to hit the 100,000 mile mark (probably within the week).
Other than replacing the water pump and alternator last year it's been relatively trouble-free. Last edited by Paul MacLean; 11-24-2011 at 12:39 PM. |

Ramishrrr, as for my post about having LSD in my tranny. Well it was brought to my attention that because my both tires had the same amount of traction, it was possible to leave 2 tire marks. I was always under the impression that if your 2 tires spun, you had an LSD, but I was wrong. So, I was wrong in assuming that, and I admit it.
