I certainly someone can clear something up for me.... I have a 2007 US Yaris S that came with the "integrated radio" the radio that is mounted into the trim panel with the vent cut outs.

I took it to a stereo place one time and they said there was no mounting hardware inside where the integrated radio sits to put in a double din, and there was nothing made for it. They did offer the single DIN with pocket. I ended up going this route.

However it seems like crutchfield says there is a double din kit for the car with integrated stereo. Howevere all I see is what appears to be side trims and has some mounts off of that for attaching to the radio. Now on my single din there is wings that come out and mount to the 4 screws that holds the radio in place. This doesnt exist on this double din piece. So I again repeat, I am standing by the stereo installer, I cannot do a double din...

But you guys have pictures of what appears to be my model based on the dashboard) and you have double din.. So can someone explain how this radio stays in place? Cause I really would like to get something like a Kenwood DNX6160.

HU finally installed

Here are pics of my new HU, a Boss 7" DVD unit. Thanks to Kongquistador for the faceplate (bought from him off eBay), and thanks to S7v7n for the help with the wiring harness! This forum is awesome!
Now I have to figure out why the disc drive only pulls discs in 3/4 way and stops...

BTW, N9QGS, I used the mounts right off the factory radio, did not need any kit besides the faceplate. The faceplate that Kong sells on eBay is a smaller hole than others, so you don't need any 'spacers' or any other special mounting hardware.

@ N9QGS - I absolutely know that the shop is 100% wrong. How? I converted from an integrated radio in my 2007 Yaris S to a single DIN using a kit and a new Toyota piece that you'll see on the YW link that S7V7N put up. The cost was around $100 I'd say for the kit and the new trim piece from Toyota. I also have pics on how I got from that to this:

Notice the the source unit area, not the kick. It's the same kit Derick is using, except I took it two steps more. I bonded the kit pocket closed with "melted" plastic (no heat was used), and then I had it painted to match the OEM car color.

I know back a few years ago cd players used to have a screw on top of the unit when they were brand new that you had to remove in order for the unit to work, usually had a big sticker that said to remove it, may want to check for that. And no problem, there's a few of us here who are more than happy to help.

OMG, lol! You were so right!
Funny thing, I saw this on the unit before I hooked it up, and I literally thought it meant "remove these screws if you do any repairs", because of the word "fixing"...
Everything works now!
