CTScott has posted re the technical aspect of the effect of temperature on batteries. I imagine the effects in South Florida (where Trini lives) would be similar to SE Texas. My Wal-Mart battery only lasted about 16 months.

Holy cow! That's awesome! I've got about 183,000 on mine at about 2815 a month... So I'll need about 10 more years to catch you!

My take from the TEXT above the lists in the post you quoted.....He set out to do a replacement thinking the flywheel didn't need replacing (he does all of his own work, plus many kits don't include the flywheel, pilot bushing, etc). He then got in there to do the work, and the flywheel did need replacing. He couldn't afford the downtime to wait to order a new flywheel, so he left that as the one major part not replaced. Later, when he'd at least gotten some use out of the parts he put in when the flywheel needed replacing, he replaced the flywheel.....and the other parts again because he wanted them all new at the same time and the parts are pretty inevpensive when ordered online. He stated (after hitting 500k miles), that he has no plans to get rid of his Yaris, so I imagine 'starting fresh' re that area was worth it from his perspective.

^^^^^ 2 months after that, someone posted that he had a light that was burned out. No burnout. He had to remind the person that he installed LEDs. No mileage update with that post . Amazing...some of the imbecilic replies he gets on YouTube....especially from 'moparsrock' .

front wheel bearings Yaris
still on original front wheel bearings
(why I searched his repairs list: I've got an 07 from Gilroy CA that is rust free, unmodified and not beat. Seems like a front wheel bearing is making noise.) |

I have replaced my wheel bearings twice in just over 100k miles yet people try to tell me that excessive speed doesn't bother them. (Rolling my eyes)
