not very long at all, I dont find the car very comfortable it doesnt have enough power the door makes a tin can sound when closing and I dont feel very safe. I'm probably going to sell it and buy another civic. The civic gets the same fuel economy and its a hell of alot nicer.

I'll keep mine until it falls apart. I did the same with my old Ranger. If she hadn't caught fire and the tranny hadn't FUBARd I'd still be driving it today. I'm hoping I can pull 20 years out of the Yaris :) People on here have reported more than 300,000 miles, so I think I can do it. I average 12k/year.

10 years
There's a lot to like about my Yaris 3 door HB. Very comfortable seating which is critical for my back - had back surgery 20 years ago & don't like seat too low to the ground. Very peppy engine, didn't expect that. Wow, need to keep an eye on speed to stay ticket free. Great mpg! More interior room than my last car. Hope to keep it 10 years or more. I only average 6,300 miles/year on my car. So in 10 years I'ld still have under 70,000 miles. Hope it doesn't develop rust in Michigan's winters with the road salt.

I think I'm going to keep my Yaris (Yoshi) for a really long time! the only reason that I would trade it in is if Toyota comes out with a Hybrid Yaris (already have his name: Hyoshi) I may still get a second car after Yoshi is paid off but I dont think I get rid of him for a while ...

I bought the Yaris for the MPG'S and I love being able to drive everywhere and get 40 mpg VS my truck's 12 mpg. I would advise against trading it though because you will lose so much money. The Yaris will grow on you after awhile. I have 92K on mine. I plan to drive till just before it dies and it will end it's life as a stock car in the "beater" 4 cylinder class at the local track |

I have had a pair of New Balance shoes since 2006 and the bottom of the shoe has seperated and sounds like flip flops when walking. And have been using the same Gillette fusion razar since 2008.

Mine is gone asap after it's paid off. I'm moving up to a Mazda Rx8 or a Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

I plan on keeping mine until its totaled, or someone offers me a stupid amount of money for it (so basically until it's totaled)

I don't think anyone will be too interested in it when I'm done... So I guess I'll have mine till it literally falls apart.

Fiat is supposed to bring it's Panda to the US in the next year or so. It may be in the form of a tiny Jeep called the Phoenix. It is a hybrid that gets 59 mpg! It will come as a 4x4 and can perform reasonably well off road. With the rear seats folded down there's enough room to cary a clothes washer. Fiat has come a long way over the years and makes super reliable cars like the Panda (Phoenix). Anything that's a bit bigger with a smoother ride, gets comparable or better fuel economy and is a lift back. The Prius lift back comes down too low in the rear for my needs and the XB's fuel milage is too poor. For now I have the Yaris for daily driving needs and a '51 Nash when I need a little smooth ride therapy.

Um, 2 years. I just bought an '08 Mustang and went in debt. It's something I wanted since '05 and the Yaris is gone now. It was a great car but I really wanted this Mustang. Don't hate me. You guys are great and this forum was super.
