the absolute only phone I would consider a good camera/phone combo and not feel I need to carry a second phone will always be my Sony W810i 2mp (R.I.P) but damn, clear shots in almost all lights and beautiful macro images (when it acted right).

but with all cameras (and phones) LIGHTING is the most important aspect.

They just need to update the auto focus on the camera and it will blow the iPhone up. iPhone takes pretty good pictures, OH and did you guys see the new next gen 4g iPhone?

Kal-El - when i said Casio Exilm, i meant the cell phone Casio Exilm by Verizon...because the GTR pic is taken from that Exilm phone w/ 5.1 mp ;)
That is why i said Moto Droid pic quality doesn't cut it for me.

I know what you mean, but to me, personal preference lol..i rather have one pocket having a bulge rather than two (phone in left pocket and digital camera in the other pocket). That is why I hunt out for overall good cell phones w/ great picture quality. America is slowly catching up, but picture quality on some phones in South Korea and Japan..are incredible...they are on 12 mp camera and higher now lol~

I had the N1 in my hands for *a while* yesterday and let me tell you, that is one FINE piece of engineering!! I can't understand why the complaints in the forum are so ferocious.

We were in a building that didn't have 3G so the phone was on Edge. Still, that thing is BLAZING FAST!!! Web pages loaded practically as fast (on Edge!!) as the Droid on VZW 3G.

The (AMOLED?) display is gorgeous. It feels fantastic in the hands.

The reported "issue" with the "back, home, menu, and search" virtual buttons is kind of a non-issue for me. You just have to hit the buttons at a certain angle rather straight down. big f'n deal!!

And I have a STRONG incentive to stay with T-MO (my unlimited plan with TMo is $55 a month v. $70 on Sprint? more than that on VZW and AT&T, and that's without taxes).

Maybe now that all these cool phones are out, we should start talking about plans, no? (of course, we still don't know how much the EVO is going to cost per month)

One thing I'm finally getting is that no matter what I get, the next best thing is gonna be coming out 3 months later and I'm gonna kick myself for not waiting another month or two. But that next best thing is still gonna be obsolete next year, so I DNK. To be honest, I'm really sick of waiting now........ OK, I"ll try to hang on until the end of the month!

Yeah, dont worry too much about a better thing coming out soon right after...just know that after 3-5 years down the road, you will have the next best thing, better than all the phones that came out after your initial phone.

Yea, phone plans would be good...where to get the better deal~ SO far, I hold Sprint to have the best deal + connectivity packaged all in one.

^ with a new contract, I would agree with you. Sprint: $69.99 + tax for 450 minutes + unlimited data and text and the little goodies they give you like Nascar and NFL live if you're into that sort of thing is a pretty good package. And the Sprint network is considerably better in the Bay Area than what it used to be.

Still, my existing plan w/ Tmo is $55+ tax, pretty hard to beat.

I really would have liked to see the N1 on Verizon, though, only to compare it to the T-Mo / AT&T N1. Oh well.

^ your wife is not alone. You should see the peeps complaining in the TMO news forum when they announced the release date might be pushed by 2 weeks.

It sounds like a really cool little phone, and although I've already kind of made up my mind, I'm waiting for it as well before I make my final decision

sorry tomato.....it was $99 for like 2 hours then they bumped it to $149.....most likely it was on contract...
