Well, i'm not going to lie, we do have "prettier" facilities, but man army food is much more delecious hands down. and it's cheaper too. i'm stationed up at elmendorf in ak, but technically my shop is on fort richardson, and we go to the army chow hall all the time because its closer, and the food is better.

I'm trying to program this f'n weather bar and its making my brain hurt. Using Rails to pull weather info via XML and the SOAP protocol from NOAA... no big deal.

No, it's my workload. Everything I'm doing takes a few days straight, is just boring work, and I really don't want to do it.

It could be worse. 90% of what I am doing takes an hour and requires a phone call with someone who is afraid of computers. The other 10% takes a week and requires a nauseating knowledge of computers.

That is to say nothing of the fact that I have a boss with a whip in hand.

I'm scanning/OCR converting/fixing the OCR conversions because it sucks/making that fixed PDF into a Word Document/re-making every image because the OCR screws them up, on these old-ass newsletters that they want to have electronically. Each one is 8 pages and it takes about 2-3 hours per newsletter. I have 140 to do. I'm on number 50 and I've been doing this for 2 weeks...
