It should be. The Prius engine operates within different parameters than the Yaris engine does.

I would also like to know about this.
Different Dyno? Different Day(Humidity/Temp)? Different Car? Different Altitude? Post 1375 is at HK MotorSports in CA Post 1378 is at Keith's Pit Stop in PA

With the stock engine making 106 at the output shaft, 15 horsepower in drive train losses seems to be the norm. I believe that the first two charts are of auto transmissions, so manual transmissions would naturally have less drivetrain losses. So you can spot them a few more horsepower if they were manuals. Interestingly enough, we had the same issue with information dropping out on the graphs, but resolved it by grounding the chassis to a bolt in the concrete floor. Here's another with intake and exhaust mods for comparison. These are all posted in the dyno thread sticky in this section. It's an interesting read. Last edited by tooter; 08-23-2013 at 07:26 PM. |

I would like to know how you have come to this conclusion? I wouldn't go totally off the tach that you are showing if that is your evidence. I have had several dyno runs and the software logging without a shadow of a doubt that 6250 is indeed where the stock ECU begins to force the AFR into a serious lean condition which is how Toyota actually "rev" limits as opposed to other methods.

I don't know what post that's from but on my Echo it is indeed 6500rpm. It's different between models.

What are the real benefits at this point?
So after close to 1400 posts I guess my question is what does this intake actually gain someone? if HP/TQ are negligible are we talking an FE gain at this point? I apologize, but with this many posts even digging back on a couple hundred can be muddled.

The PR spec cars might be. The PR spec '03 HB I drove a long time ago had a 6700 redline.

I'll test and video JR's car today. We should be able to hear the fuel cut at 6250... or 6500.. or 6700...

I'm pretty sure the rev limit is 6250, That's the only number that's ever corresponded with my data. 60 MPH in 2nd gear is all I've ever seen with my race tires.

If you want lots of power you need to buy a forced induction system. Keep your eyes open for a used one. A lot of them end up being resold. red: stock manifold with 46mm throttle body blue: tooter manifold with 46mm throttle body green: tooter manifold with 55mm throttle body Quote:

If I were still modding my sedan, I'd probably go with the Tooter and the 1ZZ TB based on the torque curve in that dyno graph (I do most of my driving from 2k-3.5k).
