Also, in the winter, many northerners switch to stock steelies and the cars are covered in snow dirt. It's probably not fun to show of your car that way.

Right...the fancy wheels are off, the cars are caked in salt and it's hit or miss whether the roads are going to be safe to drive on. Matt and I are 2.5 hour apart, Smofsren (Tristan) is 2.5 hours north of me...we can meet in the middle in Madison, but it's still better than an hours drive. Then there's Ryan and Chris and a few others near Chicago. We're pretty spread out.

morning everyone!
Had a pretty busy day, woke up early to tinker on my car (wanted to finally wire up those LED mirrors, been driving for a year a half with them just sitting there, it's a disgrace!), but ended up not able to, as I didn't have a small enough socket wrench to take out the whole mirror assembly at the base (required to run the cables through to inside the car)... In frustration I ripped out all the factory sound insulation in the passenger door, saved about half a pound in weight? ![]() After that, it was off to pick up a friend whose birthday it was today, and off to the local temple! It is traditional to receive blessings and make merit on a birthday, a simple ceremony... After that we went to the mall for lunch and a mini-party, giving presents, etc... ate way too much. I also dropped by the hardware store and got the smallest socket wrench they have, but I'm still not sure it's small enough. Then we all went to hang out at the park, lots of walking around basically, nice flowers and trees, it's good to get out of behind a desk for a few hours! We stayed until close to sunset, so there was some great lighting and I took some new pics of the car. Sadly the parking lot was pretty full so I could not get a very nice setting (pictures will be posted soon!). Then a long dinner, and back home!
