The first production run of the tooter II.VII manifold spacers is done...
You can see how the spacer relocates the Tacoma intake manifold away from the engine... My plan is to make an intake manifold spacer kit for our Yaris' because our intake manifolds are similar in design to the 2.7 Tacomas. Greg |

I remember from years past a similar product for the Honda crowd. They were marketed to keep the intake manifold colder and slow heat transfer from the head to the aluminum intake manifold.

The spacer also straightens the flow just before it enters the head. I'll have a prototype made, then dyno test it, and we'll see what happens. This won't be for a while just yet as I'm dealing with the sales of the tooter II.VII spacer right now. When that settles down, then I'll have time to focus on the tooter I.V. :) Greg |

I also remember throttle body spacers with a helical groove cut into them.

People who design and build intake manifolds follow these two basic principles: 1. Longer intake manifold runners enhance low end torque 2. Shorter intake manifold runners enhance top end horsepower |

You seriously need a synopsis thread. I've totally lost track of everything that has gone on in here, and don't much feel like skimming through 81 pages.
If you're serious on selling, I believe you could be missing out on a lot of newbies by not having a clean product offering thread.

You're right, I'm not that serious because this is just a fun hobby. There's no Yaris intake manifold spacer to sell anyways because it hasn't been designed or machined or tested yet. So I don't even know if it will work good enough to offer for sale. The Tacoma spacer is for sale on another forum entirely. The tooter manifolds and kits are all sold out and I've moved on to develop other products. Greg |

The latest tooter went to a guy in Australia who has a '03 Echo with a three bolt cable operated throttle body. When I got another manifold off ebay to build the next one, it happened to come with a Corolla 51mm three bolt cable operated throttle body in excellent condition attached to it, and was priced exactly the same as if there was no throttle body...
So I sent it to him because there weren't any available there. Everything was s tight fit because of the smaller engine bay, but it all worked out fine. Last edited by tooter; 11-24-2013 at 12:51 PM. |

tooter...
after reading 81 pages as a guest. I have to say your work is impressive. I've recently stumbled upon the corolla intake manifold which was introduced into my mazda community (offtopic i know) but i think you'll enjoy seeing some more introduction of these manifolds in other uses [see attached pictures] (not my car- but did produce 588whp/437ftlbs before bending the OEM rods) throttle body is an unknown 80mm -far too large IMHO Theres a good chance i'll be interested in some supplied parts: the square machined flange to round transition & a tube w rounded end cap similar to that which you've used in the "tooter 2" design. I'll PM you further. Keep up the good work! |

Wow... Flipping it over! what a clever idea! Whoever made it did a really good job of it. Thanks so much for posting, man. It's truly inspiring to see the creative ideas people come up with.
The CNC engineer will be back on the job next week machining parts, so I'll be starting another tooter build when they're ready. Greg |

Greg- I asked you via PM about the 2zz intake and you said the torque level was too high.
Well as discussed.. my tiny project car... The higher torque is great for traffic. Do you have a dyno sheet of the 2zz intake? Thanks |

I had said that the 2ZZ intake runners were too short because it's a high revving engine. Short runners mean more high end horsepower... but less low end torque. Quote:

Thanks fort he kind words, Salman.
You had asked in the PM about the exhaust, and it's basically stock except for a Weapon R header... And a Magnaflow center exit exhaust from Micro Image. I'm not sure, but I don't think they're available any more. A Tanabe Medalion Touring G is just as good, really deep ,mellow, and smooth... The rest of the exhaust is factory stock with all of the cats and resonators intact. Greg |

Tomorrow, I'm installing the tooter i got from Kaotic after he sold his car. Quite hard to get a reliable mpg baseline the way i commute. But cant wait to feel some more torque sooner. :)
