I got mine yesterday, and they too had the bubble wrap issue. I ended up using some miguires (sp?) swirl and scratch remover for over an hour and got about 85% of it off. you can still see it, but only if you look at it just right in the light.
when I first opened the bag it smelled like wet paint... the weird thing is only ONE if my lids had the issue! the other was fine. my main concern is that the left headlight (when sitting inside the car) does not sit flush with the hood. the right lid is perfect (except for some nicks in the fiberglas....) and sits flush. anyone notice that too? the left one also doesnt look quite the same as the left. overall they are nice and I appreciate your time and effort developing them! |

This pic shows the left headlight, the lid is sticking up: This pic shows the right headlight, same angle. notice how flush it is: This is the left headlight again, showing how much it sticks up from the hood: This is the right headlight, same angle. you can barely see it, its very flush: Please advise Tk!! |

I guess that when it rains, it pours!
Those people who will be repainting please PM me so that I can send you the $20 difference. Those folks suffering from "raised lip" syndrome can cut through the offending extra height by using a dremel. All one would need to do is basically cut the base of the lip (where the tape resides) and change the tape's position to the side. That should work out just as well, and maybe even look better than the right one, since one can adjust how high to cut the eyelid, and hence improve flushness significantly. Was that clear? I could take some pics if it helps you guys out more.

Oh, BTW, I finally heard back from the guy that painted the eyelids. He was pretty sure that it won't help to place the eyelids in the oven, since the paint is now completely dry. So guys, please strike that as an option!
