If the Yaris is anything like the echo in the brake pedal department, it is fairly easy to modify the existing pedal and install a dual master cylinder balance bar setup. And no need for a booster either. But you will have to redo all the brake lines, and I wouldn't even bother if you have ABS.

LOL Garm, are you going to be running in a 24 hour circuit and stripping your car down to bare metal when you run that steering wheel?
Data acquisition is nice to have, but ever in an emergency and needed to grab on that area for some reason say goodbye, that is unless you are a go-kart and have full lock to lock steering in half a turn and would never need to turn that much? |

UPDATES MARCH 19:
Had a lot of fun with Art working on the cars today. We took out his turbo mani from the xB so he could repair/weld a crack it developed. Art got more of the IC piping done. Then I mounted the AEM air/fuel gauge, next to the Autometer gauges I already had. Came with a white face option, nice match. It's actually the same size as the others. Hole saw FTW: Then we removed the gas pedal. The spacing isn't quite the same as the xB (cable pedal), but if I can find an xB pedal with the cable and bracket, we are good to go with a spacer to align the holes.

I cant wait to see a final product, my buddy just got back his Eclipse GS-T from the shop, its been there for a year between the buying of parts, rebuilding and beefing up the motor, and all the custom work to get the piping and stuff perfect for the car. It is not tuned and it is a HUGE difference so far, only 7-8lbs on the stock GS-X ECU, but its a pretty little thing, hes going to be using it as a Daily Driver at 14lbs. Were now doing a betting pool at work on how much HP tuned the car is going to have...lol
Just after seeing his car and riding in it, I wish I had the time and money to start putting together a turbo kit, or just swap the F'ing motor already. Sorry, not to try and threadjack, which I dont think I even came close, lol

Hey garm I am wondering that the turbo is facing right (looking from the engine bay). I think this way you needed to make longer piping to get to the inlet of intercooler. Do you have any other pics without the front bumper showing more the routing of the piping?

His intercooler has the inlet and outlet on the same side (right) That is the trick behind this piping set up!
Is a vertical flow unit. Actually this way he has the shortest possible pipe routing... I guess that is one of the good things from turbotoyotas original design. Last edited by CASTREX; 03-23-2009 at 01:19 PM. |

In this newer version, the piping is all increased in size, and the filter is now at the top, instead of near the ground (that was NOT a good design the first time!)

That intercooler is a good route you went to although it is not suitable for me since the turbo is facing in the opposite direction!
Do you have any pics of the back engine were the turbo is situated etc...? |
