This is a fascinating thread - like dangling chum before sharks. Never realized there'd be this kind of interest in parts for one car.

I remember one of those Q&A columns in one of the syndicated Sunday mags...some kid was talking about "parting out" his mother's car. The writers mocked it; pointed out the limited market for parts for (I think it was) a ten-year-old Toyota Camry.

Here you've done that, and the water's frothy with the feeding. You don't have to answer if you don't want...but I wonder if it all paid for itself and if it was worth it.

If I didn't have to ship the car across the country it would have been great. With the cost of shipping I ended up making a very small profit off parting it. Most would consider it to not be worth it, but I enjoy doing it and learn a bit more each time. The less common a car is (and the more expensive its parts), the more fruitful parting can be. The Yaris meets the less common criteria (compared to the Camry for instance), but doesn't meet the expensive part criteria (compared with BMWs that a friend of mine parts out).

The bumper foams are still available for sure. I need to check my parts to see if I have the rear trim pieces that go between the bumper and the tire.

I found them. They were under half a meter of snow.

Just to verify before I run the shipping numbers, here is a picture of the parts I believe you are looking for:

I have a list of parts that I'm WTB ASAP. Please let me know if you got 'em!

04945-52130 & 04478-52070
48068-59145 & 48069-59135
48820-52030
48815-52090

I'm also interested in the rear drum brakes, but I don't have a P/N for those. Besides, I'm sure they're super heavy and thus really expensive to ship.

OK. I have the following of your list:
Front calipers - I have a pair of perfect calipers (which would be easier than installing the rebuild kit)
Stabilizer Links - I have a brand new pair
Left control arm

I don't have:
Brake pad shims
Rear drums (sold a while back)
Right control arm
Stabilizer bar bushing

If it would be easier/cheaper for you, I could pick up the rest of the parts that you need and ship them down to Mexico. For the rear brakes, it might be more economical for shipping to just grab the shoes and springs, unless you really need the drums as well.

Turns out I need to swap these two parts again...
@CTScott: You wouldn't happen to have another set lying around, right? LMK

Wow! Are the roads down there that bad that you are chewing through ball joints?

I don't have any on hand, but if it would be less expensive for you I can track down a set.

I'll ask if the shoes & springs are enough tomorrow morning. They did mention that the drums were quite worn (but they could just be pulling my leg).

As for you getting those parts, I would be forever grateful if that's not too much of an inconvenience. Here's the price list sent by my dealer (converted to USD) for your reference:

04465-52260 $142.011
04495-52140 $132.191
04945-52130 & 04478-52070 $51.2902
90916-02500 $67.0044
48068-59145 & 48069-59135 $844.023
48820-52030 $250.870
48815-52090 $124.519

Wow! That is crazy. I am guessing that I should be able to get you everything for under $300 shipped.

No. That sold quite some time ago. I actually need one now myself and am in the process of making an aluminum one, as the OEM plastic ones are quite expensive.

Those panels go between the tires and the bumper on the inside right?

Correct on the trim panels.

It looks like shipping would be crazy ($278) for the foam pieces, because of their size. The smallest I could box them is 5 inches over the limit for priority mail, so they would have to go GXG Express.

Shipping for the plastic trim panels alone would be $55 and I could do $20 for them.
