yeah the biggest i can make the box is 23" wide which makes it impossible to fit two 12" woofers.

Not if you fiberglass instead of build a wooden box.
Build the frame a little bigger then the opening int he spare tire well. And Glass up the inside of the box. Done and done. Could easily do bigger to fit 2 12's since the subs taper in. |

yeah I want to keep these to a template so i can make up a Jig to get the job done consistently.
I also make it so you can keep those black storage things in there. That is what the box actually sits on/in to make it more OEM looking and fitting. it also keeps the box off the body of the car so that it doesnt rattle.

You can still keep the storage things if you do it right.
You make the box to the shape of the edge of the spare tire well. Basically a few extra boards. And you can still fit 2 12's. |

its certainly doable. i just havent worked with fiberglass and dont care to.
