Blower fan question
The other day, my Yaris blowe fan starting making a noise. First it sounded like there was something caught in the fan blades. Later it sounded like the bearings were going with a high pitched whine.
Today, nothing. Perfectly normal and same volume of air that it usually puts out at all 4 speeds. Has anyone else has this same occurrence and if so, did you ever have to replace the blower motor? Also, has anyone every replaced the blower motor? Where is it at and how hard is it to get to? Thanks in advance for our assistance!

You probably don't have a cabin filter and something got sucked out of the glove box and got eaten up by the fan... making a lot of noise in the process. That's what happened to me soon after I got my car, and I also thought the motor "bearings were going..."
Pull the glove box and check for a cabin filter. If you don't have one, then visit your local auto parts store. Don't keep anything loose in the glove box... like gas receipts, for example. |

Cabin air filter. Is behind the glove box inside the blower housing.
Glove box has to be removed to find it. The one I bought had an instruction sheet in the box on installing or replacing it. My 2007 shipped from the factory with it not installed. Search found this. There are more. http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...t=Cabin+filter |

You Sir, are a genius! I just removed the glovebox and opened the filter cover to discover paper in the blower well. Thanks for sharing your intelligence!

Mine didn't have a filter. I checked on Amazon.com and order one for 10.99 with free shipping.
