So if this was originally in an xb, then you are the third owner? How much for the supercharger kit alone?

I think I am the third owner, yes, I don't know the history. The S/C ran like a champ though and the intake manifold gasket is in perfect condition. I didn't have a single CEL with it, after sorting out the vacuum leak, that is :)

I would prefer not to part them, but if no one wants to buy the whole thing, I'd sell the S/C alone for $1,700.

So...you would have pretty much no idea how many miles, correct?

If I recall correctly, the previous owner said 20-25k miles before I bought it plus 5,000 from me, we get 30k miles tops.

But to be honest, I don't see how the mileage would be relevant, without having more accurate usage data. I mean how do 5k miles with the S/C turned off compare to 5k miles with the S/C making boost most of the time?

The Blitz has a clutch pulley, so I would imagine that the internals are not spinning when the clutch is not engaged, but I'm not a mechanic, so this is all speculation on my part.

As the second owner of this particular set up.....

The supercharger fins will spin while the supercharger is off. They have to spin or there is no way to get air into the engine. The car is slower than stock when the supercharger is off because the engine is sucking through the fins. There is no 'bypass' valve anywhere in the system - would probably make this set up much nicer to drive in the 'off' position, but I never got around to it.

I originally bought it from a first gen xb owner. He had slightly less than 20k miles on the supercharger and I put about 5,000 on it. The oil to my knowledge has never been changed, but I have found blitz manuals recommending that it be changed after 30,000 miles since the fins are spinning even when it is turned "off." This process is not difficult. It would take some gear oil and some time online looking for the how-to.

I'm glad it worked for you, hope it makes someone else happy. GLWS.

If you have any questions, just send me a message!

I will sell the S/C and the water/meth kit separately if anyone is interested in buying just one kit.

$300 shipped, for the AEM water/methanol injection kit
$1,700 shipped, for the Blitz Supercharger
