Tanabe Concept G Exhaust Installed
Yesterday Tabane installed the Concept G Exhaust on my liftback, looks so much better than stock. The sound is really good, not too loud, under 93db. They did a dyno and said it gained 3.1hp at the wheels. Should be available soon for the Yaris, now that they know it fits.
Here's some pics Here's a link to the product on Tanabe's website: http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/conceptg.asp |

Looking good!
Wondering if the Sedan exhaust is routed the same as the Hatch? I can only assume it would be. |

Everytime I think of Tanabe, I think of the Medallion Exhaust for the RSX that actually made the car lose 1HP.

Tanabe says it is just going to be sold as Axle Back, and it's a very easy installation. Not sure on cost yet, or differences with the liftback and sedan. I'm sure they'll post info when they know more details.
The sound is very good, nice low rumble at low rpms, good sound at 80mph. At low idle you can barely tell it's there, until you hit the gas. |

I just dont want a "ricey" weedwacker tone, but after listening to them, they sound nothing like that! Now if it wasn't so, "in your face" looking.. Wish it was a little better hidden behind the bumper. |

Probably most like the Scion Xb, although it's hard to tell exactly with these laptop speakers.
It's not ricey at all, but not as deep and throaty sounding as my boxster's stock exhaust. If anyone wants to check it out in person let me know, although I've only seen a handful of Yaris in the So Cal area. |

I really like the sound...when it comes to changing out only the muffler without it being a catback or even with a different header I think that it has a nice low tone...plus I really prefer a muffler that is close to silent when just sitting idle. depending on price I very well might be in.

Excuse me for being semi car retarded, but axel-back as opposed to cat-back just means that this kit wont come with a cat, right? I'm assuming you can just buy a cat with the same piping diameter and slap it in there and be fine.
