How much power can i get from a factory bottom end?
So soon I'm gonna have about $500 i can just throw around, of which i would prefer to spend on my Yaris … (It's tax season can't blame me LOL). I'm aiming to eventually make 160 hp on boost but before i start investing in any serious modifications i want to know how much power the stock pistons/rods can hold before my engine blows to shit.. (all i've got now is a K&N air filter lol). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated guys

8psi would be the safe limit that would give you years of use as long as you aren't beating on it constantly. 8psi with the right fuel delivery can get you 160hp just fine. 8psi with the right setup on atock internals can actually get you to around 175-190 if the setup is built correctly.

you can easily stick with the stock fuel rail and pump however you would need larger injectors. there is a lot discussion on this in many forced induction threads. probably best to take the time to read through them including mine.

I was always curious about ambient pressure from state to state. Here in Utah I measured .85atm (12.5psi) using a cheap obd2 scanner and the OE equipment. I assume most people on this forum use California's ambient pressure which is higher
